Privacy Policy

Klaxon is operated by Domenic Morabito, a sole proprietor doing business as 830 Empire, located in New York, United States. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get rid of it. We collect as little as the product needs to work, and we do not sell it.

What we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Microsoft, we receive and store an identifier from that provider, your email address, and your display name if one is provided. We never receive your password.

If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see the relay address Apple gives us.

Your school and classes

We store the school you select and the course sections you choose to track, so we can watch them and tell you when a seat opens.

Subscription information

We store whether your subscription is active, which plan you are on, when it expires, and which store bills you. We never see or store your card details. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple or by Stripe.

Delivery details

If you link Discord, we store your Discord user ID so we can send you alerts by direct message. If you use the iPhone app and allow notifications, we store a push token for your device. Both exist only to deliver alerts, and both are removed when you unlink or delete your account.

School requests

If you ask us to support a school, we store the school name and, if you provide one, your email address so we can tell you when it is added. To stop the form being abused we also store a one-way hash derived from your network address. We do not store the address itself, and the hash cannot be used to identify you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information
• We do not show advertising
• We do not have access to your school login or student records
• We do not track you across other websites

Who we share it with

We share only what each of these services needs to do its job:

• Google, Apple, Microsoft — sign in
• Discord — delivering alerts, if you link it
• Apple and Stripe — taking payment
• RevenueCat — keeping track of subscription status
• SendGrid — sending account emails
• Google Firebase — delivering push notifications
• Amazon Web Services — hosting

We may also disclose information if legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, we permanently delete it along with your tracked classes, and we remove you from our Discord server and from our subscription records. This is immediate and cannot be undone.

Records we are required to keep for tax or accounting reasons, such as payment records held by Apple or Stripe, are retained by those services under their own policies.

Your choices

• Delete your account at any time from Settings
• Unlink Discord at any time, which removes your Discord ID
• Turn off notifications on your device at any time
• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@klaxon.gg

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. We honour those requests regardless of where you are.

Children

Klaxon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
